Day 3
Delhi

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full-day city tour of Old and New Delhi. Start your tour in Old Delhi, where you’ll visit the fascinating Red Fort, which is the most opulent fort of the Mughal Empire. Also see the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, and the Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the old city that you will see come alive as the trading day starts. Also visit the Raj Ghat memorial, which marks the spot that Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated. In the afternoon, visit New Delhi, a metro ride away. You’ll see some of the most impressive monuments from India’s past, including the Qutub Minar – a victory tower built in 1199 – and Humayun’s Tomb, which was built to commemorate the emperor Humayun’s wife, and is considered a prime example of Mughal architecture and an inspiration of the Taj Mahal.
