Born in Singapore, Tim first came to London to study Hotel and Catering Management and spent the next 12 years in the luxury hotel industry, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Los Angeles. He then settled in Melbourne and switched to travel retail, selling luxury holidays and cruises. He returned to London in 2006 and joined Wexas. Luxury and expedition cruising remain close to Tim's heart, having spent more than 300 days aboard luxury ships, including trips to the Arctic and Antarctic. Luxury rail journeys are another of Tim's passions, citing India's Maharajas' Express and South Africa's Rovos Rail among his favourites. Other highlights have included standing on the Great Wall of China, snorkelling in the Galapagos, exploring Machu Picchu and safaris in Botswana.
