Tim Tan
Tim Tan

Biography

Born in Singapore, Tim first came to London to study hotel and catering management, before spending the next 12 years in the luxury hotel industry. His work took him everywhere from Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan to Australia, New Zealand and the USA. It was in Melbourne, however, where he started working in travel, tailor-making luxury holidays and cruises. He returned to London in 2006 and joined Wexas Travel. Luxury and expedition cruising are closest to Tim’s heart, having spent more than 500 days aboard luxury ships, including trips to the Arctic, Antarctic and Alaska. Luxury rail journeys are another of Tim’s passions, with his travels taking him on everything from India’s Maharajas’ Express and Canada’s Rocky Mountaineer to the Golden Eagle, South Africa’s Rovos Rail and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. In between all this, he's snorkelled in the Galápagos, stood on the Great Wall of China, trekked Machu Picchu, enjoyed a safari in Botswana, walked with polar bears and swam with beluga whales.
