After included VIP airport lounge access, board your overnight flight to Vietnam.

Days 2-3
Ho Chi Minh City

On arrival, you’ll be met by a local representative for an included transfer to your hand-picked accommodation, all floor-to-ceiling windows, timber beams and rustically modern suites. This evening, you’ll be treated to an included welcome dinner of gourmet, Vietnamese food in a villa that once was once the home of a vice president. Your programme of guided tours begins the next day with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Built by Viet Cong guerrillas, they served as supply routes, hospitals, weapon caches and even living quarters.

Stay: Fusion Suites, Ho Chi Minh City (Superior)

Day 4
Embark ship at Ho Chi Minh City

Today, an included transfer will see you aboard your luxury river ship, where French-colonial charm plays out everywhere from its spa and its all-suite accommodation to its plush lounges and expansive sun-deck, complete with swimming pool. Tan Chau and Border Crossing

In the morning, transfer to a small boat for a journey along the tiny tributaries that snake around Tan Chau, stepping ashore to explore rural island life with a rickshaw tour. Today you’ll see both sides to the Cambodian capital. First, a tour of the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum – a high school turned executioners’ prison – will introduce you to the harrowing atrocities of the Khmer Rouge, before you turn to the royal delights of the Golden Palace and Silver Pagoda. This pair of 19th-century jewels sweep spectacularly skywards in gilded tiers.

Day 8
Oudong and Phnom Penh

In Oudong, the former Cambodian capital, you’ll follow the country’s pilgrims to a historic Buddhist monastery, where you’ll participate in a blessing ceremony. Then, jumping on an ox cart, you’ll explore its rural villages, all vibrant rice paddies and traditional buildings. This afternoon is then left free to explore Phnom Penh, perhaps taking a tuk-tuk tour or relaxing in one of the cute bars along its river.
