Kangaroo Island
On arrival in Adelaide, you’ll board a charter flight for the short hop to Kangaroo Island. More than one third of the island is a designated national park or conservation area, and the likelihood of encountering the local wildlife which includes koalas, kangaroos and fur seals – not to mention prolific birdlife – is high!
Your home for the next two nights is Southern Ocean Lodge, a glorious retreat perched on a bluff in the midst of Kangaroo Island’s wilderness with 180-degree views of the wild Southern Ocean. Twenty-one luxurious suites line the cliff-edge, all offering uninterrupted panoramas, glass-walled bathrooms and outdoor terraces. A menu of signature guided experiences shows off the very best of the island and its wildlife, whilst the superb food focuses on the excellent local produce. There is also an extensive wine list showcasing both Kangaroo Island and South Australian labels.

Uluru
From Kangaroo Island head inland to Uluru in the Red Centre, the heart of the Australian Outback. Nothing can prepare you for the sheer size and magnitude of this giant monolith, which was formed millions of years ago. This is the spiritual and cultural heartland of Australia and you’ll enjoy a wealth of touring that allows you to discover it through the stories and experiences of the Anangu, the traditional owners of this spectacular wilderness.
On arrival you’ll be transferred to Longitude 131, an exclusive enclave of 15 suites designed in the style of the pioneer tents of old but with all the creature comforts expected of a luxury resort. Floor to ceiling windows offer your own private view of Uluru, quite literally from the end of your bed, whilst the touring and dining experiences give chance to witness the vivid, ever-changing colours of the rock at sunrise and sunset.

Daintree National Park
Fly north to Cairns, where on arrival you’ll transfer to Silky Oaks Lodge, a tranquil retreat on the edge of the ancient Daintree National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the oldest rainforests on the planet, and there are plenty of ways to explore including hikes, kayaking and mountain biking. The Healing Waters Spa offers a blissful menu of relaxing treatments and the restaurant serves up award-winning dining.
Rooms are set in the tree canopy or along the edge of the Mossman River and feature plenty of polished local timbers, marble bathrooms and views out into the rainforest, all have private balconies.

Lizard Island
The flight from Cairns to Lizard Island takes just an hour and en route you’ll get a bird’s eye view of Cape Tribulation, the only place on earth where two world-heritage listed places – the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef – meet. Lizard Island is gorgeous, wild and remote, but this is not a place of manicured golf courses and landscaped gardens. Rather, an island with a rugged interior is festooned with flora and fauna, encircled by 24 powder-soft beaches. The Great Barrier Reef is your marine playground – snorkel straight from the beach to a coral garden, join a dive to world-renowned Cod Hole or relax and enjoy private beach picnics and rejuvenating spa treatments.
Rooms here are elegant and understated with cool colours and white washed timbers, some with panoramic views and plunge pools.
