Clean, contemporary Arts & Crafts style inn providing award-winning service and accommodation overlooking the rugged Mendocino coast.
Food & wine | Off the beaten track | Relaxation
Overlooking Mendocino Bay, this contemporary oceanfront B&B is off Route 1, just 1.7 miles from the charming historic town of Mendocino. Perched on a bluff, the property offers views of Smugglers Cove and the Pacific Ocean. Nearby attractions to explore include Van Damme State Park, Friendship Park and Ford House Visitor Centre and Museum, as well as the fine local wineries.
There are ten luxurious guest bedrooms and suites, most benefitting from ocean views and balconies from which to enjoy them. All rooms are decorated in muted, soothing earth tones with tasteful furnishings and feature separate seating areas with fireplace & TV, plus large bathrooms offering luxury bath products from Asprey and Molton & Brown, plush robes and Abyss towels. Aside from the vast 2-bedroomed Meadowview Suite, which faces inland, the Corner King Rooms are the most capacious options with oceanview, featuring two-person soaking tubs and showers and larger lounging areas. Little extra touches such as fresh flowers, Sferra fine linens and feather mattress toppers all add to the Brewery Gulch Inn experience.
True to its status as an inn, a full breakfast is included in your stay and each evening there is a “Happy Hour” where a buffet of fine food and drink showcasing local produce in the farm-to-table concept is served up by excellent Executive Chef Peg Davis. This generous wine and light dinner buffet hour is as much an integral part of the experience at Brewery Gulch Inn as the accommodations itself. Taking place in the Grand Room, guests can socialise with each other whilst enjoying the selections, crafted to feature only the freshest, local ingredients available.
The enormous Great Room is the heart and soul of Brewery Gulch, a towering space flooded with light and arts and crafts furniture and chestnut leather seating creating a comfortable gathering room for guests. There is a wide selection of books, DVDs and games to borrow and oversized doors open out from the living area to a large deck facing the ocean where guests can enjoy the abundant local bird life and spectacular sunsets. The inn is so welcoming that guests tend to linger after dinner and this creates a real homely atmosphere that is rare to find these days.
