Amankora Thimphu is located in a serene blue pine forest in the upper reaches of the Motithang area of the Thimphu Valley. The resort is located close to the capital’s top sites for shopping, whilst remaining a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It also has traditional architecture, with whitewashed stone buildings and an enclosed courtyard.
There are 16 suites at the Amankora Thimphu. Suites feature a combined bedroom and lounge, king-sized beds, a reading chair, and a window banquette with views over the landscaped courtyard, or the stream and pine forest. There is a spacious bathroom that opens from the bedroom, which has a separate shower and toilet and a terrazzo-clad bath. All suites are decorated with tasteful wood panelling and chocolate brown walls.
There is a combined Living and Dining Room at the resort, which has soaring ceilings and wood panelled walls. There’s also an outdoor Dining Deck that provides views of the nearby stream and surrounding forest. At dinner, you can enjoy either a western-inspired menu, or a Thai set menu.
There’s a spa at the hotel that features two single and one double treatment room, a steam room and changing areas. There’s also a combined Living and Dining Room, with beautiful views of the surrounding forest.
