Taj Tashi Thimphu

Location

The Taj Tashi is in Bhutan's capital city of Thimphu, which is set in the heart of the Thimphu Valley. This is an ideal base from which to explore Bhutan's spectacular monasteries, centuries-old street festivals, scenic mountain passes and pristine wilderness. The hotel is also eco-friendly, abiding by its Earth initiative, which stands for Environmental Awareness and Renewal at Taj Hotels.

There is a range of accommodation available at the hotel. Room types include Guest Rooms and Suites, which are adorned with hand-painted murals of clouds, and have Wi-Fi. Dining

There is one main restaurant at the hotel, the Chig-ja-gye that specialises in Bhutanese cuisine and is decorated with old-style gold leaf paintings and horn instruments. There is also a bar, the Ara, that’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of excursions, and Rimps, which is a well-lit tea lounge. Visit the Thongsel for an all-day coffee shop.

Facilities

There’s a fantastic spa at the hotel called the Jiva Spa. The spa offers a range of treatments, facilities and cuisine. Treatments are Asian-inspired, and there’re a range of options including hot stone baths, Indian aromatherapy and deep tissue massages. The spa also offers healthy food, yoga retreats and Ayurveda treatments.
