Amankora Bumthang is located within the town of Kajar in the Choekhor Valley, an area commonly known as Bumthang. It is adjacent to the first and second king of Bhutan’s palace, the Wangdichholing, and passes alongside its former royal sports ground. An apple and pear orchard surrounds the hotel.
There are 16 guest suites at the hotel, which can be accessed via an impressive stone-clad hallway. The suites are situated in four separate structures, each containing two suites on the ground floor and two on the upper floors. Each luxury accommodation features wood-panelled interiors, a traditional bukhari stove, a king-sized bed and a daybed overlooking the courtyard and Wangdishholing Palace and monastery. Each room also has a spacious bathroom, with a terrazzo-clad bath and a shower.
At the hotel, there's a regally appointed Dining Room at the hotel, which has soaring ceilings. For al fresco dining, eat in the outdoor eating area that’s under the shade of local fruit trees in the central courtyard.
The hotel has a spa that’s located just above the entranceway, and offers three intimate treatment rooms, a steam room and changing areas. There’s also a Library and a comfortable Living Room with lounge chairs, daybeds, and a traditional bukhari. Enjoy views across the central courtyard and palace grounds through its floor-to-ceiling windows.
