About

History & culture | Natural world | Wildlife
Tucked deep into the Boreal forest of the Canadian North you will find a remote, wilderness lodge experience like no other in Ontario. Reached by private aircraft from Thunder Bay fly over hundreds of untouched lakes and uninhabited islands to arrive at Miminska Lodge, which sits on the shores of Lake Miminiska. Expect stunning landscapes, remarkable wildlife and a deep-rooted history, which is integral to the Ontario wilderness. In the most pristine of settings you’ll find private lakefront cabins with ensuite bathrooms offering a very comfortable place to stay. This is a place where you can canoe or kayak with a First Nations interpretive guide who grew up on the lake in order to learn how his ancestors travelled these very same waterways hundreds of years ago. Spend a morning learning to catch your own pike or walleye, jump on a paddleboard, swim, or embrace the peaceful surroundings with a sunset yoga session. Taste local craft beer as you toast marshmallows over a bonfire under a million stars and if you are incredibly lucky, maybe just maybe see the Northern Lights!
