Norway's ski resorts are extremely family friendly and well suited for beginners, with world-class ski schools and much quieter slopes than in other parts of Europe, even in peak season, meaning more time on the mountain and less time spent queuing for the lifts.

There's plenty for the more advanced skier with some fantastic off-piste and back country skiing to be found. Unsurprisingly, cross-country, or Nordic skiing, is also well catered for, with mile upon mile of unspoilt tracks around the resort villages and some breathtaking scenery to match.

Away from the slopes there are a wide range of other activities to enjoy including dogsledding, ice fishing and snow rafting.

Accommodation in Norway's ski resorts ranges from traditional, cosy log cabins to stylish hotels and luxury apartments, many with roaring fires and private saunas, adding to the distinctly Scandinavian feel of your Norwegian ski experience.

Norway's three main resorts, Geilo, Hemsedal and Beitostolen are all easily reached by road or scenic train journey from Oslo or Bergen, making a longer 'city and ski' break a fantastic option. A day trip to the magnificent Norwegian fjords is also a great addition to your ski holiday, or why not head north to Tromso where you can experience the wilderness of Arctic Norway and catch a glimpse of the magical Northern Lights.

At WEXAS we have a tailor-made approach to our ski holidays, meaning we can offer you much more flexibility than some other companies, allowing you to arrive when you want, leave when you want and stay where you want. We're more than happy to suggest add-ons and activities you may not otherwise have thought of and help you create the perfect tailor-made itinerary that will help make your Norwegian winter holiday a truly memorable one.

Norway is a superb skiing destination, with modern facilities and a climate that almost guarantees snow throughout the ski season from mid December until April. It's not uncommon for snow to fall beyond Easter, making Norway one of Europe's most reliable springtime winter sports destinations.
