Malangen Resort, Tromso

Location

Around 90 minutes south of Tromsø, Malangen Resort enjoys a secluded setting on the shores of the Malangenfjord, surrounded by mountains, forests and wide-open Arctic landscapes. Its remote location is very much part of the appeal, offering the chance to switch off and experience Arctic Norway in peaceful surroundings. Direct transfers are available between the resort and Tromsø Airport or city centre, making it easy to combine a stay here with time in the region's main hub.

Accommodation

Accommodation ranges from contemporary hotel rooms to spacious apartments and traditional sea-view cabins, many positioned close to the water's edge with views across the fjord and surrounding mountains. Large windows are designed to make the most of the scenery, while apartments and cabins feature kitchenettes and private balconies or terraces. Please note that the apartments and cabins are privately owned and rented through the resort, meaning decor and amenities vary between units.

Dining

Dining at the resort's restaurant is centred around hearty Nordic cuisine. Guests can choose between a chef's set menu, featuring a limited selection of carefully chosen dishes, or dine from the à la carte menu for greater flexibility. Served in a relaxed fjordside setting, the emphasis is on wholesome flavours and comforting meals after a day spent exploring the Arctic landscape.

Facilities

The resort's facilities include a glass-fronted sauna, outdoor hot tubs overlooking the fjord and an Aurora cabin used for Northern Lights experiences and presentations. A variety of nature-based activities is available throughout the year, from hiking and kayaking in summer to husky sledding, snowshoeing and snowmobile excursions during the winter months.
