America's 50th state is one of the world's most romantic destinations and also one of the most exhilarating, home to fiery volcanoes, vivid coral reefs and emerald rainforests. A deeply ingrained surf culture and Pacific Island feel adds to the laid-back atmosphere and you'll find the locals to be some of the most welcoming anywhere in the world.
This tailor-made holiday takes in the islands of Oahu, Kauai, Hawaii and Maui over two weeks, allowing you to discover the very best of this magical island paradise at a relaxed pace.
Day by day itinerary
Arriving in Honolulu, you’ll pick up your car at the airport and transfer to Waikiki Beach hotel for a three-night stay. Your introduction to paradise living can include visits to the USS Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor and the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, famous for its pristine beach and great snorkelling. Don’t forget to visit the North Shore and its celebrated surf spots, complemented by stunning cliff-top hikes.
Stay: Outrigger Reef on the Beach (Superior) or The Kahala (Deluxe)
It's a 20-minute flight to Kauai, Hawaii's oldest island and the backdrop to such classics as Jurassic Park, South Pacific and more recently, Lost. You'll have two full days to explore Kauai's green and rugged coastline. The most famous stretch, the Na Pali Coast, is unreachable by car but a helicopter tour comes highly recommended. You can, however, drive to Waimea Canyon, a gargantuan chasm of ancient lava rock, 13 miles long and 2,500ft deep.
Stay: Koa Kea, Kaui, Hawaii (Superior)
Hawaii (The Big Island)
Hop on your next flight to The Big Island where no trip is complete without a visit to Volcanoes National Park, home to two of the world's largest and most active volcanoes: Kilauea has been erupting continuously since 1983 and molten lava can often be witnessed tumbling into the sea. You’ll also find dense jungle valleys fronting white beaches and even snow-capped peaks.
Stay: Sheraton Kona Resort (Superior) or Hapuna Prince Beach Hotel (Deluxe)
Your next flight will bring you to Maui. From your hotel at Kaanapali, you can stroll along the beautiful beach and enjoy the views of the neighbouring islands. Then, rise before dawn for a sunrise hike at Haleakala, the world's largest dormant volcano. The island also offers world-class windsurfing, diving and, from December to April, whale-watching.
Stay: Kaanapali Beach Resort (Superior) or Fairmont Kea Lani (Deluxe)
