This is your chance to discover the lesser-explored alpine gem of British Columbia's Sun Peaks on an ultra-scenic road trip. It all starts in Vancouver with an included gastronomic tour before vineyard tastings and gourmet lunches in two of Canada's most renowned wine regions. After stops at fascinating gold-rush towns, there's everything from paddle boarding to mountain biking on offer in Sun Peaks, with a stay in a charming mountain-framed hotel. The journey concludes in Whistler, where we've included a panoramic Peak 2 Peak gondola ride and a four-course fine-dining dinner, before you head back to Vancouver via the stunning Sea-to-Sky Highway. Alongside it all, there's stays in both rustic and contemporary hotels and lodges, many with indulgent spas and fresh seafood restaurants.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1
UK to Vancouver

After included VIP airport lounge access, board your flight to Vancouver and transfer to your city-centre hotel. You’ll have the evening to explore – we recommend heading out to sample the city's renowned restaurant scene and buzzing waterfront harbour.

Stay: Rosedale on Robson, Vancouver (Superior)

Day 2
Vancouver & food tour

After breakfast you’ll have a full day to explore; perhaps stroll along Vancouver's historic cobbled-street districts, discover its sprawling Chinese garden, or even head out whale watching. Later it's time for your included food tour in the city’s number 1 'foodie' district, historic Gastown. Home to some of the city’s best dining spots, from quirky pubs to fine-dining eateries, indulge in everything from Canadian classic poutine to fresh-from-the-oven pizza and craft beer.

Stay: Rosedale on Robson, Vancouver (Superior)

Meals: B L

Day 3
Vancouver to Osoyoos

After breakfast pick up your hire car, leaving the coast to enter the verdant, farm-dotted Fraser Valley, climbing winding highways and the forest-clad Cascade Mountains before reaching Princeton. It's well worth a stop here for its fascinating history – it was once a 1800s gold mining gem – as it's now almost deserted with ghost towns and abandoned mines. Make your way then to Keremeos, filled with charming ranches and vineyards, before finally reaching Osoyoos and checking in to your hotel. We'd suggest sampling the onsite restaurant tonight for ultra-fresh seafood, with everything from fresh salt spring island mussels to seared albacore tuna on the menu.

Stay: Coast Osoyoos Beach Hotel, Osoyoos (Superior)

Meals: B

Day 4
Osoyoos winery tour

Today will see you experience Osoyoos’ crowning glory – perhaps surprisingly, its wine. We’ve included a comprehensive vineyard tour that’ll see you visit five wineries along the Black Sage Bench and Golden Mile, two of the region’s most prominent valleys with remarkably different climates. It's all enjoyed alongside an included gourmet lunch. Then, back at the hotel, take advantage of the spa, pool, beach and lake perfect for watersports before perhaps refuelling at one of Osoyoos' sushi bars or seafood eateries.

Stay: Coast Osoyoos Beach Hotel, Osoyoos (Superior)

Meals: L

Day 5
Osoyoos to Kelowna

Leave Oyosoos today to continue north along Highway 97, passing the rolling vineyards and forest-clad cliffs of charmingly-named Peachland – a wonderful spot for a lakeside picnic. Continue on to the valley of Penticton, stopping to take in the farmhouse-dotted landscapes, before reaching your next destination, Kelowna. It’s here you'll have the chance to embark on everything from mountain biking through the desert to gourmet dining in the vineyards. First, though, check in to your hotel that's just steps from the beach with a pool, hot tub and grill & oyster bar. If you’ve chosen the deluxe option, you'll check in to the Cove Lakeside Resort, vaunting contemporary suites, a gorgeous spa and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows in its gourmet restaurant.

Stay: Prestige Beach House, Kelowna (Superior)

Day 6
Kelowna wine tour

Today, we’ve included a full-day winery tour, where you'll visit the best and oldest vineyards in the Okanagan valley. From the flagship Mission Hill Estate to historic family-owned vineyards, each of the five wineries you'll visit specialises in a certain varietal, which you'll enjoy alongside an included lunch at the Old Vines at Quails Gate, voted one of Canada’s top 100 restaurants. Perhaps opt to head into Kelowna this evening to sample one of the excellent dining options, from farm-to-table eateries to creative French cuisine.

Stay: Prestige Beach House, Kelowna (Superior)

Days 7-8
Sun Peaks

Depart Kelowna today, heading through the arid dry interior of British Columbia’s cattle country and passing through Kamloops, a charming town perched by the Thompson river, before reaching the alpine resort of Sun Peaks. You'll have nearly two full days to explore; head out forest mountain biking and hiking, go paddle boarding on the lake and enjoy a free outdoor music event (they take place nearly every week in the summer months). You'll return each night to Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. With three outdoor hot tubs, a heated outdoor swimming pool, two massage rooms and a sauna, the spa is truly world-class, but there's also a fabulous restaurant serving traditional Pacific Northwest cuisine with a scenic patio to drink in the snow-capped mountain views.

Stay: Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, Sun Peaks Resort (Superior)

Day 9
Sun Peaks to Whistler

Today you’ll continue your journey by travelling along Logan Lake to the gold rush town of Historic Hat Creek, for which we've included a visit. Go back to the days of the gold rush with horse-and-carriage transport, First Nations villages, woodshops and roadhouses before continuing the journey south to Whistler and checking in to your hotel, the contemporary Aava Whistler Hotel, a resort-centre gem with an outdoor hot tub.

Stay: Aava Whistler Hotel (Superior)

Day 10
Whistler, Peak 2 Peak Gondola & gourmet dinner tour

The charming alpine resort of Whistler is yours to explore today; perhaps play a round of golf or try your hand at watersports on one of the five lakes. We’ve also included a ride on the Peak 2 Peak gondola to the Blackcomb mountains for stunning vistas of glaciers and volcanoes among snow-capped peaks. For your final night this evening we’ve included a dinner tour, where you'll indulge in four courses at four award-winning Whistler restaurants. Expect everything from East Coast scallops to roasted rack of lamb, alongside visiting a 15,000-bottle wine cellar and even learning how to saber a champagne bottle.

Stay: Aava Whistler Hotel (Superior)

Meals: D

Days 11-12
Whistler to Vancouver & depart for UK

Your final drive is an ultra-scenic one as you traverse the Sea-to-Sky Highway back to Vancouver in a stunning two-hour drive. Be sure to make time to stop at Shannon Falls and the granite cliffs of Stawamus Chief rock before dropping off your hire car and making your way to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK, arriving on day 12.
