This six-night Barcelona & Costa Brava twin centre break includes a city tour, allowing you to take in the city's main highlights including the remarkable work of architect Antoni Gaudi, which can be seen throughout the city, including the immense but still unfinished church of the Sagrada Familia, which has been under construction since 1882. Then head north to the Costa Brava and a stay at the Relais & Chateaux Mas de Torrent, the perfect location for beach relaxation, or exploring the nearby historic city of Girona.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1

A short flight transports you to Barcelona, the capitol of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. There is a wide choice of transfers for your journey to the city centre from the airport which takes just 20-30 minutes.

Your accommodation is the Grand Hotel Central Barcelona, a classic luxury hotel in very heart of historic Barcelona. With a privileged location in the city centre, it’s close to two of Gaudi’s famous buildings and the excellent shopping area around Passeig de Grácia.

Day 2
Gaudi & Sagrada Familia

Following breakfast at your hotel, today join a guided tour and discover the legacy of Antoni Gaudí, Barcelona’s favourite son, see his most famous landmarks. Pass the beautiful modernist facades of la Pedrera and Casa Batllo as you make your way down Passeig de Gràcia to to his undoubted masterpiece, the unfinished La Sagrada Familia.

Discover the fascinating history behind this unique structure as you skip the line and are lead on a guided tour of the church’s exterior and interior, learning how Gaudí took over the project but tragically died in the middle of construction that has still not been completed.

Day 3
Montserrat & Sitges

The drive from Barcelona to Montserrat is one of the most arresting in Spain and you'll experience it in style, with the full services of a private driver and guide. The road wends its way past picture-postcard villages, before gradually ascending towards Montserrat mountain. Dating back to the 12th century the mountain is home to an impressive monastery reached by mountain train. Here enjoy time to explore and taste some of the monks liquors before an included lunch.

In the afternoon your private driver will take you to the charming village of Sitges, located between the mountains and the sea, with a legacy of the artists who discovered the town in the mid 19th century, the village is framed by seventeen golden beaches that stretch for miles

Days 4-6
Barcelona/Costa Brava

Collect your hire car and drive north to the Costa Brava, perhaps taking the scenic route via the coast and then cutting inland stopping at the historic city of Girona. On arrival, you'll check into Mas de Torrent. This eighteenth-century Catalan farmhouse converted into an exclusive hotel. It's not hard to see why this Relais & Chateaux gem is considered to be one of the best in Spain. With traditional and elegant rooms some with private pools and private terraces. The superb Mas de Torrent gourmet restaurant offers traditional Catalan cuisine, and the masSPA features a sauna, steam room and indoor pool.

You'll have three full days to explore the charms of the Costa Brava, from the beaches to the Roman ruins of Empuries, also a trip to Figueres, the birthplace of Salvador Dali and some of the surrounding wineries are a recommended

Day 7
Costa Brava/Barcelona/UK

After breakfast, drive back to Barcelona airport, return your hire car and board your flight back to the UK.
