Location

Lake Brunner Eco Lodge is surrounded by native bushland and offers expansive views across Lake Brunner on the western side of New Zealand’s South Island. It’s a peaceful and quiet environment in which to unwind, recharge and connect with nature, with numerous hiking trails in the nearby wetlands and native rainforest. The area is also ideal for bird watching and stargazing. The lake’s main settlement, Moana, is around a 35-minute drive away, while the coastal towns of Greymouth and Hokitika can be reached in 45 minutes or so. The nearest international airport, meanwhile, is Christchurch – a two-and-a-half hour drive away.

Accommodation

Expect spacious, tastefully furnished ensuite rooms filled with natural light and decorated in warm, cream tones. Lake View rooms offer fabulous views of Lake Brunner through large bay windows, while Forest View rooms feature private deck areas and French doors that open out to the surrounding gardens and woodland. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the property.

Dining

Lake Brunner Eco Lodge takes great pride in showcasing the finest, locally sourced produce from the West Coast region. At the restaurant, you can enjoy a skillfully crafted two-course set menu lunch or a three-course dinner accompanied by wonderful views of the surrounding nature. A continental breakfast is also served in the mornings.

Facilities

Enjoy access to a cosy shared lounge with comfortable seating and scenic views, as well as a library and games room with a pool table. You can also make the most of your stay by taking advantage of complimentary use of kayaks and paddleboards, perfect for exploring Lake Brunner at your own pace. And, for an extra supplement, you can book a space at the private wood-fired hot tub. The lodge can also arrange a variety of tours and experiences, whether you fancy trying your hand at fly-fishing or seeing the nearby glow worms by night. A hike to the nearby Carew Falls is also highly recommended.
