Location
Located ina prehistoric setting, in a relic of one of the largest dried super-lakes, the Makgadikgadi, Jack's Camp offers striking desert contrasts in the Great Kalahari area. The camp is accessible via daily flights available from Johannesburg or Maun Airport, to the Tsigaro airstrip at Jack’s Camp.
Accommodation
Ten luxury suites exude dramatic, old school glamour in green canvas tents with muslin draped walls and crisp linen. A pool pavilion ensures the desert blaze is kept at bay within these sophisticated 1940s desert safari tents. Rooms feature romantic outdoor showers, fashionable furnishings, and copper basins alongside a quirky atmosphere within the Great Kalahari environment.
Dining
Dining tends to be a group affair, enjoyed indoors. Breakfast consists of buffet styles options ranging from cereals to yogurts and cooked breakfast items. Lunch and dinner menu’s vary, including traditional soups and meats accompanied by fresh vegetables and lentils.
Facilities
Guided game drives offer the chance to explore 6,200 square miles of Makgadikgadi Salt Pan to see rare desert species including the Brown Hyena and Kalahari Lion. Guests also have the opportunity to get close and personal with meerkats, enjoy compelling bush walks and interact with San tracks from the Bushmen tribe, enjoy birding walks to seek migratory and resident bird species and scenic quad biking through the fossil pans in the Great Kalahari basin.
