Location
Sitting directly in Anchorage's downtown hub the Captain Cook is only a 15 minute drive from the airport and around 2 ½ hours from Seward, where the majority of Alaskan cruises depart from. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Accommodation
Hotel Captain Cook has 547 guest rooms in three buildings which overlook the Cook Inlet or Chugach Mountains. There is a choice of rooms but we particularly recommend the Captains Deck Floor which offers rooms on the 16th and 17th floors and includes daily breakfast, complimentary evening canapés and complimentary access to the fitness centre and pool. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, opening windows and Wi-Fi.
Dining
The hotel offers a few dining options with The Crows Nest, a fine dining restaurant perched at the top of the 3rd tower focusing on a fusion of French and New American dishes and a wine cellar of over 10,000 bottle; the food and the views are superb. Fletcher’s is a relaxed, informal pub-style environment with excellent seafood and pizza. The Whale’s Tale Bistro and Bar enables you to try 32 different wines with a self-dispensing wine system, unique in Alaska, and is a great place to meet the locals. The café is located in the lobby and is open daily for breakfast.
Facilities
There is an athletics club and pool, a charge applies unless you are staying on the Captains Deck floors of the hotel. The hotel is also home to a range of shops and just a short walk from the Alaska Centre for Performing Arts and the scenic Coastal Trail.
Stay here on these holidays

Located within a ring-shaped region around the North Pole called the auroral oval and less than 200km south of the Arctic Circle, Fairbanks in Alaska is among some of the best places on earth to experience the mysterious Northern Lights.
