El Questro Homestead, Kimberley

Location

The homestead is located in the rustic surrounds of El Questro Wilderness Park off what is regarded as one of the great Australian 4WD adventures, the Gibb River Road. Situated atop the Chamberlain Gorge, the homestead features panoramic outback views of the gorge, bushland and river systems from sunrise to sunset. Set out to explore the Kimberly region; a huge plateau dissected into sandstone ranges, large tracts of undulating sand and extensive grass and woodlands.

Accommodation

El Questro Homestead features just nine rooms, suites and retreats. Homestead Rooms offer views over the lodge's gardens, while Chamberlain Rooms and three Cliff Side Retreats overlook the Chamberlain River. Rooms combine authentic Australian furnishings with modern touches, including Bose sound systems. Look to the Chamberlain Suite for a wrap-around verandah and floor to ceiling windows to take in spectacular gorge views.

Dining

Organic produce, sourced from the nearby Ord River Valley regularly appears on an ever-changing seasonal menu, while other ingredients are taken from the vast coastlines and farms of Western Australia. Guests are encouraged to dine in a selection of unique locations in and around the lodge, including on a private cliff top, under the shade of a boab tree, or in the comfort of one of the Homestead's spacious verandahs.

Facilities

Spend your days here discovering a wealth of natural treasures, from the Zebedee Thermal Springs and Miri Miri Falls to all manner of gorges, rivers, canyons and creeks, which can be explored by foot, horseback and even from the air. The hotel puts on a range of experiences including boat trips through the gorge or a helicopter ride to far-flung waterholes. Back at the homestead, there’s a swimming pool, tennis court and the homestead’s intimate atmosphere is rounded off with an all inclusive self-serve bar.

El Questro Homestead is open from 1 April to 23 October 2016. Children 15 years and under are not catered for.
