Located in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the heart of Botswana's UNESCO World Heritage-listed Okavango Delta, the Belmond Khwai River Lodge sits along the migration route of one of the most wildlife-rich regions of Southern Africa, a region that extends from the wetlands of the Okavango to the vast plains and savannah of the Chobe National Park. The Belmond Khwai River Lodge offers spectacular big game viewing, combined with the highest standards of service and luxury that come as standard with the Belmond brand.
Accommodation comprises 14 luxury rooms, raised on wooden platforms above the wetlands. African-style thatched roofs add a traditional element to the design, while spacious private decks with comfy chairs and a hammock provide panoramic views and the perfect place to relax and unwind when not out on safari. The lodge also features a private suite, tucked away from the main camp, offering additional seclusion and an even more romantic safari experience. Here you'll have the added benefit of a large deck with heated splash pool and full views of the reserve, an open-air bathroom with double shower and a copper-framed Victorian-style bath.
Dining is enjoyed under a sheltered dining room, with local flavours accompanied by the finest refreshing South African wines. Intimate private dining can also be arranged in this romantic venue, or simply enjoy the superb cuisine and fine wine beneath the star-studded African sky on the deck of your room.
After a day exploring the reserve by jeep, mokoro (traditional canoe), helicopter, or by foot, guests can return to the lodge and enjoy facilities that include a gym and spa, swimming pool, small library, a curio shop and a traditional Boma, where cultural performances are often displayed.
