Set among the Desert Oaks Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is an award-winning camp on Kings Creek Station, a fully operational cattle station covering 1,800 square kilometres. The station is owned by Aussies Ian and Lynn Conway and it’s the perfect place from which to explore the magnificence of Kings Canyon.
Location
Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is around 30 minutes drive from the main entrance to Kings Canyon just over mid-way between Alice Springs and Uluru (Ayers Rock). The drive to Alice Springs will take around 5 ½ hours and to Uluru it’s 3½ hours.
Accommodation
There are ten cosy tented cabins with ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and the opportunity to sleep in comfort in the splendour of the outback. With only a small number of guests you’ll enjoy a very personal level of service and the staff live on site so are on hand 24 hours a day for any assistance you might need.
Dining
Dinner is served around a blazing camp fire beneath the bright stars of a southern sky. This is excellent Australian home-style cooking rather than fine dining, and local delicacies with a distinct Australian flavour such as barramundi, kangaroo and camel can be enjoyed. During the cooler months or inclement weather there is a cosy dining area where meals are served.
Facilities
Spend your time exploring the splendour of the wilderness that surrounds you, including the many walks available in Kings Canyon.
Please note that Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge will close from 1 December 2016 to 28 February 2017 inclusive.
