Food is a way of life on Atlantic Canada's Prince Edward Island, with fresh, local ingredients from the land and sea, and talented chefs taking experiences to a whole other level. Discover Canada’s Food Island through five authentic culinary adventures.
1. Cook bannock & clams in the sand
Experience preparing Bannock, a traditionally made bread which is cooked in the sand and served with oysters and clams prepared over the open fire. Alongside the food, you'll be treated to stories of traditional life on Lennox Island and maybe learn a little Mi’kmaq while you're there.

2. Go on a deep-sea fishing experience
Join a two-hour deep-sea fishing experience with onboard BBQ. Fish for mackerel, then fillet and BBQ your catch. You'll also have the chance to watch the fishermen haul a rock crab pot and mussel sock for a close-up view of the local fishing industry.

3. Try a traditional Acadian Meal
Make a traditional Acadian meal in the 250-year-old Doucet log house kitchen, open-hearth fireplace and outdoor sandstone bread oven. Make butter, Bannock, Chicken Fricot, and ice cream, to enjoy with mussels, rapture, Rustico Meat Pie and dessert.

4. Join a farm tour
Visit a local potato farm and learn from an local farmer about the industry. Enjoy a visit at the Canadian Potato Museum, and enjoy a delicious potato-based lunch featuring world-famous PEI potatoes. You will leave with your head full of fun potato facts and stomach full from a potato lunch.

5. Catch a lobster
Experience the life of a lobster fisher while taking in the beauty of Prince Eduard Island's North Shore. Sail to oyster and mussel beds where your captain will explain the details of these industries. Continue to a lobster buoy where you'll be guided through the process of hauling a lobster trap and doing all that's necessary to get the catch to the table. From the boat, enjoy a picnic lunch of a lobster roll from nearby Gallant’s Clover Farm.
