Spend a night in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, before sailing across the Baltic to St Petersburg, where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the city without the time-consuming process and expense of applying for a Russian visa. You’ll stay at the five-star Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge, a luxurious launch pad for your included tour of the city's highlights, culminating in a visit to the impressive Hermitage Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of fine art. What's more our cruise ship has a choice of up to five cabin grades along with a host of bars and restaurants, a casino, duty free shops and on-board entertainment.

Enjoy included airport lounge access before your flight to Helsinki. On arrival in the Finnish capital, you'll check in to the Radisson Blu Plaza, ideally located close to the National Theatre, Grand Casino Helsinki and Finnish National Gallery.

The bulk of today is left free for you to explore the city. The shopping is excellent and a number of sights are well worth a visit, including the ‘church in the rock’, Temppeliaukio, the colourful Market Square, the Presidential Palace and the Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral, whose golden minarets give Helsinki a distinctive Eastern flavour. Come evening you’ll board the M/S Princess Maria, check in to your cabin and enjoy dinner on board as you set sail for St Petersburg.

Arrive in the morning and transfer to the luxurious Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge in the heart of the city. Your included sightseeing tour takes in the Hermitage Museum, home to the world's largest collection of fine art and history and either Peter and Paul Fortress or St Isaac’s Cathedral. You'll also have ample time to explore at your own pace, with the Faberge Museum among a host of optional highlights.

Your return cruise departs St Petersburg at 19.00 on day five, with dinner once again served on board. Arrive in Helsinki at 08.00 the next morning and make your own way to the airport for your flight home.
