Day by day itinerary

Day 1
UK to Vancouver

After beginning your trip in relaxing style with VIP airport lounge access, board your day flight to Vancouver. On arrival, check in to the ultra-contemporary Loden hotel, wonderfully situated in Vancouver’s picturesque coal harbour, featuring a luxurious spa and sprawling, elegant rooms. Take the chance to explore Vancouver, perhaps with a stroll in historic Gastown or along the charming seafront, before taking advantage of the city’s eclectic dining options, from Japanese hole-in-the-walls to ultra-fresh seafood eateries.

Stay: The Loden (Superior)

Day 2
Vancouver to Tofino

After breakfast, make your way to the airport for a short flight to Tofino. Upon arrival, pick up your car hire and head to the stunning Wickaninnish Inn perched on a rugged, rocky peninsula overlooking the forest carpeted atolls of Vancouver Island's wild coast. Enjoy beach views, private balconies and fireplaces, with local art-adorned walls adding a charming touch. You’ll receive wet weather gear if the weather doesn't comply, or a backpack and beach blanket in summer, and come evening, you'll indulge in the The Pointe restaurant, an acclaimed Vancouver Island eatery, offering the likes of cured salmon tartare, pacific halibut and Dungeness crab. It’s a perfect prelude to a sundowner at the Rocks Bar & Lounge which offers an excellent range of northwest wines and B.C single malt scotches.

Days 3-5
The Wickaninnish Inn

You've got the next three days to explore the lodge and its surrounding area. Perhaps enjoy a sea kayaking excursion on the pristine waters, coming across sea lions and breaching whales, or head on guided tours through the ancient rainforest to spot bears around Clayoquot Sound. On day four we’ve included a hot springs and whale watching tour – you'll travel north to the end of Clayoquot Sound, stopping at a deep sea cave and viewing black bears, an eagle’s nest and a seabird nesting island before walking around thermal rock pools and enjoying a gentle hike through the rainforest boardwalk trail to the natural sulphur hot springs. The inn's beachside Driftwood Café offers coffees, smoothies and light items, a perfect prelude to a relaxing spa treatment at the Ancient Cedars Spa before you indulge in tasting menus and gourmet dinners. There's also the Lookout Library and Henry Nolla’s Carving Shed; if you see the ‘open’ sign, pop in and see what the local wood carvers are creating. Then, there's a self-guided art tour and on Saturday mornings, a complimentary nature hike through the rainforest to Chesterman Beach. Bicycles are also available, along with a fitness room and buckets and spades for the beach.
