About

Beach | History & culture
This popular holiday begins with a stay on central Dalmatia's largest island, Brac, with its radiant white stone, which has helped to build both Diocletian's Palace in Split and the White House in Washington DC, and Zlatni Rat, the long pebbly beach that juts out emphatically into the dazzling Adriatic and adorns 90% of Croatia's tourism posters. You'll then move on to Makarska, a pretty port town with a long pebbly beach, lively waterfront restaurants and a limestone centre that turns peachy orange in the setting sun. It's also an ideal base from which to explore the cities of Split and Dubrovnik.
Day by day itinerary
Day
1
London to Brac
After your complimentary airport lounge access in the UK, fly to Split and meet your shared transfer. You'll catch the regular ferry from Split to Supetar on the Island of Brac (50 minutes). Check into the 4-star Bluesun Grand for a five-night stay.
Stay: Bluesun Grand Hotel Elaphusa, Brac
Days
2-5
Brac
Time to enjoy island life either on the beach - including Croatia's most photographed beach, the V-shaped Zlatni Rat- or exploring abandoned villages such as Murvica, where residents left in the 1950s to search for a 'new world' and to where their decendents are now returning.
Brac is the third largest of Croatia's Adriatic islands and has the highest point of any of them. From the summit at Vidova Gora and see splendid views over the islands of Bol & Hvar.

Brac to Makarska
The second part of the holiday is spent at the 4-star Hotel Park in Makarska, a pretty port town with a long pebbly beach, lively waterfront restaurants and a limestone centre that turns peachy orange in the setting sun. It's also an ideal base from which to explore the cities of Split and Dubrovnik.
Today you'll travel by ferry from Sumartin direct to Makarska back on the mainland (25 minutes) and check into the 4-star Biokovo Hotel in Makarska, your home for the next five nights.
Makarska is the liveliest resort on this stretch of coast. Pavement cafes and restaurants make this the place for a holiday with more of a buzz.

This is considered to be the most beautiful stretches of coast in the Dalmatia region. The white pebble beaches slope gently making it ideal for children and little villages of stone houses, churches and bell towers are never far away. An ideal base for excursions to Dubrovnik and the island of Korcula. The Biokovo Mountains offer breathtaking views, although the hairpin bends are not for the fainthearted.
