Day by day itinerary
Days
1-2
UK/Prague
Begin your trip in style with complimentary airport-lounge access before your flight out to Prague. On arrival, a private transfer will see you to your luxury accommodation for your two night stay, set on the cobbled streets looking over the river to the old town, you’ll be perfectly poised for some further exploration today. Centring on the imposing towers and stern brickwork of the Hradčany Castle, you’ll be treated to one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval centres, complemented by near-ancient chapels, Gothic architecture and centuries-old bridges. Then there’s the artwork that adorns its impressive galleries and, yes, the beer that flows from microbreweries and hip bars alike. Alternatively, simply while away the days in one of its pavement cafés.

Prague to Paris
After a morning at leisure, make your way to the station to join the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. You’ll settle back into your delightfully intimate cabin, perhaps pairing the Czech countryside with a good book or a drink in the bar car. An afternoon tea of gourmet delights is then served before you’re treated to a four-course dinner, as always prepared onboard by the skilled French chefs. Then, after perhaps enjoying a glass of something bubbly in the champagne bar, you’ll find your cabin converted into sleeping berths, complete with crisp damask sheets.

Paris to London
This morning, a Continental breakfast will again be served in your cabin as you roll on through Paris. Then, following a gourmet brunch, you’ll arrive at Calais for a channel-tunnel hop to Folkestone where the Belmond British Pullman will be waiting. Another icon of luxury train travel, its restored carriages have hosted everyone from Winston Churchill to Her Majesty the Queen. Think fine mosaics, Art-Deco flair and high-backed armchairs. It’s the evocative backdrop for afternoon tea, taken with a glass of sparkling wine as rural Kent rushes past. You’ll then end in London Victoria to make your onward journey home.
