About

Activity adventure | City | Natural world | Northern Lights | September holidays | Short break | Winter
Yet for all its austerity, Iceland has a gentler side too. Reykjavik, the world’s northernmost capital, is a cultural dynamo with a burgeoning live music scene, world-class restaurants and fascinating museums, all squeezed into a small-town environment. Outside the capital there is puffin and whalewatching, medieval relics and natural spas, bubbling away at nearly forty degrees celsius. Basing yourself at a hotel in the heart of the capital, this four-day adventure takes in the Golden Circle highlights of UNESCO-listed Thingvellir, Geysir's thermal vents and the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall as well as an unforgettable tour to see the Northern Lights.
