Day by day itinerary
Depart the UK
Head to the airport, where you'll enjoy complimentary lounge access before your overnight flight to Buenos Aires.
On arrival into Buenos Aires on day two, you'll transfer to your classically elegant hotel in the Recoleta district, a particularly affluent area of the city known for its French townhouses, gilded palaces and upmarket shopping. Explore Buenos Aires over the next few days, wandering around the brightly coloured buildings of La Boca and sipping coffee at the iconic Café Tortoni. Don't miss a visit to the central Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings, the grand 1908 Teatro Colón, and the contemporary MALBA museum, showcasing modern Latin American art. An included dinner show at the opulent Hotel Faena introduces you to the magic of Argentinian tango – you'll dine on a three-course meal and sip champagne as dancers bring to life infectious Latin rhythms and pounding beats. Set to a live quintet, it's a truly immersive experience.

Estancia La Bamba de Areco
Today you'll take an included transfer to Estancia La Bamba de Areco, a luxury Relais & Châteaux rancho located in the flat plains outside of the city. At the end of an avenue lined with ancient plane trees, it's a colonial-style hideaway in the gaucho heartland. Although one of the oldest estates in the region, extensive renovations have resulted in a blend of traditional features and luxe furnishings throughout, not to mention a vast outdoor swimming pool with views of the grounds. The food and wine offerings here are a special highlight – it's all included in your stay – expect authentic Argentinian meals and world-class wines selected from a menu curated by master chef Federico Compte. Don't miss the chance to take a horse ride with a gaucho guide, walk or bicycle along the local trails and visit the nearby town for a leisurely afternoon. Sip caipirinhas as the sun sets on the first evening, before retiring to your Portuguese-Colonial style room, adorned with brightly-coloured artisanal furnishings and local artwork. On day eight, you'll enjoy an included full day tour of the Argentinian side of the falls, with a boat ride bringing you up close to this natural world wonder. The next day, on check out, a half-day tour of the Brazilian side completes the experience – it's here that you can see panoramic views of the falls in their entirety.

Rio de Janeiro
After your waterfall tour this morning, you'll transfer to another spectacular Belmond property in Rio de Janeiro, this time right on Copacabana Beach, overlooking its white sands and the South Atlantic Ocean.
