From Big-Five game viewing to horizonless landscapes and ancient culture, this is the Africa that captures hearts. You’ll track the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Masai Mara’s plains before spotting rhinos at the flamingo-dotted Lake Nakuru and elephants drinking the melt water of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Travelling with a small group, you’ll be treated to game drives, gourmet dining, scenic Rift-Valley drives and evocative stays in national-park safari lodges and luxury tented camps. Then, perhaps cap it all with some optional beach relaxation.
Day by day itinerary
Begin with complimentary airport lounge access before your overnight flight.
Arriving into the Kenyan capital, you’ll be met by an included transfer and brought to your luxury accommodation – a Leading Hotel of the World. Here, you’ll relax after your flight with spa treatments and gourmet dining that rank among the country’s finest. Alternatively, head out to explore Nairobi’s colourful chaos. It’s as if all of Africa has found root here, with the city host to streetfood hawkers, vibrant markets and a truly cosmopolitan outlook. The museums are also particularly good, showcasing everything from African rail to Maasai culture.
Stay: Nairobi Serena Hotel (Superior)
The Masai Mara
Travelling in a small group, you’ll be brought southwest – through fields of barley and past chapel-capped escarpments – to arrive at the Masai Mara. Staying right on a bush-clad hilltop, your room, the pool terrace and full-board restaurant offer spectacular views of the savannah below. You’ll also explore on a programme of twice-daily game drives. On top of the famed Big Five, there are hippos crouching in the Mara River along with the ‘Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth’ – the wildebeest migration. Look on as these majestic creatures tempt out stalking predators. You’ll also be treated to a taste of the local culture with a visit to a traditional Maasai village.

Sweeping on through the barley fields of Kenya’s ‘Bread Basket’, you’ll plunge down into the Great Rift Valley, its verdant plains framed by rocky crags. Then, keeping your eyes out for herds of giraffe and gazelle, you’ll head up the Mai Mahiu to arrive at Nakuru National Park, enjoying an included picnic lunch. Arranged around a shimmering lake bright with flamingos, it’s the evocative setting for your game drive. There’s everything from black and white rhinos to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. This evening, you’ll stay in a luxury tented camp for further gourmet dining, private-verandah lake views and four-poster-bed safari chic.
Stay: Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp (Superior)

Amboseli National Park
Today, leaving the Great Rift Valley behind, you’ll sweep northwest to the feet of Mt. Kilimanjaro. And, along with golden savannah and bright-green swamps, Africa’s tallest peak is the dramatic backdrop to your evocative accommodation, styled after a Maasai manyatta village. While you’ll be able to watch as wildebeest and antelopes come in to graze while you enjoy your full-board dining, you’ll also head out on a pair of game drives. Thanks to its sparse vegetation, it’s one of the best places in the world to get close to wild elephants. Your wildlife experts will also point out the likes of cheetah, plains zebras and Maasai lions.
Stay: Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge (Superior)

Depart for UK
After an early breakfast, you’ll be brought back to Nairobi for your overnight flight home. Alternatively, for some post-safari relaxation, we highly recommend looking to a white-sands getaway on Kenya’s Swahili Coast.
