Board the Britannic Explorer
Your journey begins at Victoria Station in central London, where you'll board the pale blue carriages of the Britannic Explorer and be welcomed by your personal steward as you step inside a world of British elegance and refinement. Settle into your supremely comfortable private suite before indulging in the first culinary experience of your journey – a traditional Welsh afternoon tea. Leaving the bright lights of the capital behind, you'll journey west, through the English countryside, before crossing the Severn Estuary into Wales. As you go, you may be tempted to stop by the Wellness Suite for a soothing spa treatment. Later on, head over to the observation car for exquisite, handcrafted cocktails in the company of your fellow travellers, followed by a delectable dinner in the restaurant car, where the menu from renowned chef Simon Rogan takes inspiration from the culinary heritage and seasonal ingredients of the Welsh countryside.

After a short while, you'll arrive at a lavender field, which provides the perfect setting for a delicious picnic, with a hamper full of premium British products. Returning to the train, you'll sweep across the mellow landscapes of Carmarthenshire and Powys, heading north, in the direction of Snowdonia National Park, as the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic – think rugged mountains, deep valleys and cascading waterfalls. In the evening, savour a gourmet dinner and enjoy some live entertainment in the observation car as the train stops for the night in the pretty harbour town of Porthmadog.

Snowdonia & Shropshire
Departing from Porthmadog this morning, one of the most spectacular stretches of your journey awaits as you traverse the stunning landscapes of Snowdonia National Park and cross the Barmouth Bridge – the longest single-track wooden railway viaduct in Wales. After breakfast, you'll arrive at the market town of Machynlleth in mid-morning, which you'll have the chance to explore on a choice of outdoor pursuits. Here, you can also sample some superb, natural Welsh fine. Back on board, lunch is served as you glide through the verdant landscapes of Mid Wales, passing the historic town of Welshpool before crossing back over the border to Shropshire, in England's West Midlands. Heading south, your next stop is Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds, renowned for its honey-coloured stone houses. You'll disembark here for an exclusive evening at a quintessential English country pub, featuring the likes of Scotch eggs, sausages rolls, local ales and artisan liqueurs, while learning the art of how to pour the perfect pint. It's then time to return to the train for your final evening on board.
