Uma by COMO is located in the Paro Valley in Bhutan, and is an intimate resort with beautiful interior design. The hotel is located very close to some of the country’s best cultural landmarks, including the Tiger’s Nest monastery, and the Thimpu museums, monasteries and markets.
There are nine private villas at the hotel, and 20 luxury rooms combining the colourful accents of Bhutanese craftsmanship and clean-lined contemporary design. All villas are separate, with beautiful views of the forest, mountains and surrounding valley. Take a room overlooking the valley for sweeping, memorable views, or alternatively, opt for a luxurious two-bedroom suite in the form of a COMO Villa. Each has a large living area with panoramic views of the Paro Valley, as well as an al fresco hot stone bathtub, open-air courtyard, indoor spa treatment room, and beautiful design features.
The main restaurant at Uma by COMO is the Bukhari that serves traditional Bhutanese cuisine, with much of its ingredients sourced from the hotel’s organic garden. Lunches at the hotel tend to be international comfort food, whilst dinner is fine dining with both international and traditional Bhutanese cuisine. There’s also the Uma Bar, which has a relaxed atmosphere and serves refreshments from 11am, including non-alcoholic smoothies and alcoholic options. The hotel also serves COMO Shambhala Cuisine, a healthy option that’s designed to maximise energy and wellbeing.
The COMO Shambhala Retreat is a calming spa at the centre of the hotel that offers a range of holistic, Asian-inspired treatments including Aryurveda. There are also two private Bhutanese hot stone bathhouses, a large indoor pool with alfresco sundeck, steam rooms, a gym and yoga studio that have beautiful Paro Valley views.
