This exquisite five-star hotel that was once a 12th-century private villa is perched above the dazzling coast of Amalfi in the medieval hilltop village of Ravello, looking over some of Italy's most picturesque fishing towns.
Rooms are exquisite and adorned with hand-made Vietri tiles, antique carpets, gold-gilded furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows alongside all the modern amenities. Most spectacular, though, is the Infinito Suite, with a spectacular sea view, private terrace and two levels with a large outdoor deck featuring a hot tub, plasma screen and speakers. Come evening, there are myriad dining options such as Rossellinis, offering exquisite set tasting menus and hand-picked regional wines, and the Chef's Table, where just four diners enjoy a bingo-type menu. The Sommelier's Table is a dream for oenophiles where you'll enjoy wine and cheese in an intimate cave, while the newly-opened Lobster & Martini Bar offers ultra-fresh lobster alongside an extensive champagne and martini menu for true indulgence.
Come daytime, take advantage of the surrounding coastline with the likes of private-yacht trips that will see you explore hidden grottos, or discover Ravello and Positano’s colourful houses and picturesque fishing harbours. There’s also the chance to head to glamorous Capri for some wine tasting, or explore the historic sites of Pompeii. For those who just want to relax, head to the nearby Clubhouse by the Sea for complimentary access to the beach, swimming pool, casual Clubhouse Restaurant and beach-vibe living rooms.
After days spent exploring, take advantage of the extensive range of spa treatments on offer and the hydro pool, sauna, Turkish steam bath and massage cabins, as well as the spectacular outdoor heated swimming pool nestled in the gardens overlooking the mountain-framed ocean. Or, head to the rooftop with its solarium and whirlpool – perfect for taking in the view with a glass of prosecco.
