Expedition cruise
One of Hurtigruten’s ‘contemporary’ ships, the MS Richard With is affectionately named after the company’s founder. Captain Richard With established the Norwegian Coastal Express in 1893, which made a huge difference to life along the beautiful but daunting coastline.
A hundred years later, in 1993, Hurtigruten launched the ship that bears his name, and takes passengers in comfort along the sea routes he used.
The view is as spectacular as it has always been, and the MS Richard With is designed to make the most of them, with two panorama lounges, Horisont and Syvstjernen. There’s a warm feel on board, with cosy cabins, Norwegian art, friendly and helpful crew and hearty meals. There’s no entertainment on board, other than a singer from time to time, but with such spectacular surroundings to explore, it’s hardly needed.

A café serves snacks and drinks around the clock, and the bar on Deck 4 is popular for after dinner drinks.
