25 April 2013 by Ronan Gay

After being a sell out event and surpassing all expectations in its launch year, this extraordinary food & wine festival is back by popular demand and bigger than ever before. From November 22 - 24 of this year, Margaret River Gourmet Escape will once again showcase an unparalleled line up of over 25 international and local food & wine celebrities, money can't buy experiences and a focus on ‘the world's best chefs'.

In this year's jam packed program of indulgent long lunches, a pop up beach BBQ restaurant and exclusive dinners with the world's best chefs, wine tastings, masterclasses and much more it is a not to be missed event. Margaret River Gourmet Escape received an overwhelmingly positive reception from visitors, media and the food and wine industry, and therefore firmly positioned itself as one of Australia's most exciting food and wine festivals.

The 2013 event program and talent line up will be announced in June but will be an impressive line up of the world's best chefs, such as Heston Blumenthal, Rick Stein, René Redzepi and Alex Atala ; last year this list included three chefs from the top ten restaurants in the world.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape has multiple events across the weekend. The heart of the festival is the Gourmet Village hosted at Leeuwin Estate Winery, Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm. It's here that all the stars will appear across the weekend program of cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, masterclasses, Q&A's and panel discussions. Elsewhere, other events include beautiful Smiths Beach Gourmet BBQ's, Long Lunches, iconic Dinners, and the introduction of new premium food and wine offerings, all of which will be held in exclusive wineries, untouched bushland and other unique destinations.
