About
Recommended for:
Beach | City | History & culture
This two-centre break combines a week on Korčula with the World Heritage charms of ever-popular Dubrovnik. With deep valleys, sprawling vineyards, endless olive groves and some 200 beaches, Korčula’s sheer variety sets it apart from many of its Adriatic cousins. And, at 47km in length, the region’s sixth-largest island still has plenty of hidden bays and quiet coves to explore, away from the tourist crowds. You'll have six nights here before heading south for four nights in Dubrovnik, a city whose marbled streets, baroque churches, ancient city walls and stunning coastal setting requires little introduction.
Day by day itinerary
Days
1-6
UK/Korčula
Fly to Dubrovnik and transfer by road and ferry to Korčula. Over the next seven days, you'll have time to relax on secluded sandy beaches and pebbly bays, each framed by the crystalline waters of the Adriatic Sea. There's far more to the island than sun, sea and sand, however; it's rich and varied landscapes shelter everything from medieval fortresses to ancient towers and churches while age-old traditions are played out in colourful dances and energetic, folk music singalongs. Korčula is also known for its wines, particularly dry whites, which provide the perfect complement to a bounty of fresh seafood.

Dubrovnik
Return to Dubrovnik for a stay at the Hotel Komodor, on the Lapad Bay. You'll have four full days here to soak up the history and culture of Croatia's most picturesque city, with a wide range of optional, expert-led excursions that bring to life the Gothic and Romanesque architecture hidden within its imposing walls. Alternatively, take time to explore the surrounding Dalmatian coastline, or perhaps head south for a day trip into neighbouring Montenegro.
