Fly to Trondheim and check in to the Thon Hotel Nidaros – a contemporary favourite housed in a early-20th-century stone building. At more than 1,000 years old, Trondheim is the historical heart of Norway and boasts a number of fascinating attractions including the colourful fisherman wharves that line the Nidelven River. The Trondheim food hall, full of locally produced foods ranging from seafood to smoked meats and homemade cheeses, is well worth a visit.

Polar Express
Travel on the spectacular Nordland Railway, known poetically as the Polar Express, on a ten-hour journey through Trøndelag’s breathtaking landscapes and across the Arctic Circle to Bodo.

Lofoten Islands

Bodo
Fly back to Bodo and transfer to your hotel. Surrounded by tiny islands, and framed by distant snow-dusted peaks, it's a wonderfully scenic spot in which to enjoy your last day in Arctic Norway. Perhaps head out for a stroll, go in search f white-tailed sea eagles – the region is known as Norway's sea eagle capital – or simply tuck yourself up in a cosy pub or cafe and watch the wintry world go by.
