Day 1: Caracas
Arrive in Caracas and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Mérida
Fly to El Vigia and transfer to Mérida, an enchanting town framed by the five highest peaks of the Venezuelan Andes.
Day 3: El Páramo
Visit the picturesque villages of the Andean high plateau en route to Los Frailes Hotel, built on the edge of a valley in the style of a 17th century monastery.
Days 4–5: Los Llanos
Descend to the plains of Los Llanos and Hato El Cedral, a 55,000-hectare ranch and nature reserve.
Day 6: Puerto Ordaz
Fly to Puerto Ordaz, gateway to the Orinoco Delta.
Days 7–8: Orinoco Delta
Transfer to Orinoco Delta Lodge. Enjoy excursions by boat through the delta’s maze of forested islands and floating reed beds, home to Warao Indians and an array of flora and fauna.
Day 9: Ciudad Bolivar
Transfer to Posada Casa Grande in the centre of Ciudad Bolivar.
Days 10–11: Gran Sabana
Embark on a two-day expedition to the Gran Sabana. See giant tepuis, plunging waterfalls, Indian communities and missionary outposts.
Days 12–14: Canaima National Park
Fly south to Canaima for two nights at Waku Lodge, by a lagoon with multiple waterfalls. Optional excursions include a trip to the base of Angel Falls (the highest in the world).
Days 14–18: Extension to Los Roques National Park
Fly via Caracas to Gran Roque Island for days of snorkelling and diving in crystal-clear water.
