Northern Lights Weekend in Lapland

4-day tailor-made journey

Summary

Short description

A four-day winter break at Harriniva Hotel in the heart of Finnish Lapland

About

Activity adventure | Lapland | Natural world | Northern Lights | Short break | Winter

Hotel Harriniva is one of the best places in Finland to see the Aurora Borealis. With daily information about weather conditions and aurora activity you'll be well prepared to catch a glimpse of this remarkable natural phenomenon. And, when the Northern Lights appear the hotel's lights go off, allowing you to observe the aurora in all its colourful glory, unburdened by the glow of artificial light. Daytime activities are equally exciting, with the chance to enjoy reindeer and husky safaris through the frozen landscapes of Finnish Lapland.

Day by day itinerary

Arrival

Fly to Kittilä via Helsinki and transfer to Harriniva Hotel in western Lapland. Harriniva is a cosy, pine-clad wilderness hotel that offers saunas, outdoor jacuzzis, snow igloos and spa treatments, as well as its own farm of around 400 friendly huskies. Check in for three nights and enjoy dinner at the hotel's restaurant, followed by a Northern lights workshop, your introduction to the Northern lights.

This evening enjoy a hearty dinner before departing on your first evening excursion. The chances of seeing the famous ‘Aurora Borealis’ are great on this night safari by snowmobile. The tour takes you to the top of a nearby fell, where you will enjoy some warm drinks and look for the Northern Lights.
