City | Food & wine | History & culture
Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance and is estimated to hold more than half of Italy's most important artworks. The city is a hotbed of Italian history, culture and cuisine, and the surrounding Tuscan countryside produces some of Italy's finest wines, while historic Verona is renowned for its opera. Spend three days exploring Florence's piazzas and fortress-like palazzo on this six-day, twin-centre holiday, before travelling First Class by train to Verona, home to the Arena di Verona and the setting for three of Shakespeare's plays. In Florence you'll stay at the luxurious Il Salviatino in the hills overlooking the city, before moving to the stylish Relais Fra'Lorenzo, overlooking Verona's historic centre - both hotels provide some of the best panoramic views in Italy.
