Finally, return in style to Luxor to visit its iconic Valley of the Kings, the imposing Hatshepsut Temple and the famed Colossi of Memnon. Day 1

With VIP lounge access included, you'll enjoy a relaxing start to your holiday before a direct flight into Luxor and the start of your cruise. On arrival in the city, a private transfer will bring you to the Sanctuary Sun Boat IV, your opulent home for the next seven nights. Inside, contemporary furnishings meet art deco flourishes as teak flooring and flowing fabrics add further elegance. Cabins and suites come with floor-to-ceiling windows and, in some cases private balconies, while on the Sun Deck, more teak, this time paired with Egyptian marble, frames a stunning outdoor heated pool. Then after lunch, your Egyptologist guide will bring you to Luxor's West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings, he Hatshepsut Temple and the famed Colossi of Memnon. Then, return to the ship for cocktails, canapés and the first of your included meals, a gourmet dinner accompanied by Egyptian wine and beer.

Day 2

You'll greet the day in the restaurant with a sumptuous buffet breakfast as you sail north to Qena where an early morning tour will showcase the Ptolemaic Temple of Goddess Hathor in nearby Denderah. This preserved temple complex is a rare sight to behold, complete with a stone roof, chambers linked by underground passages and towering columns inscribed with hundreds of hieroglyphs. At the tour's end, return to the ship to spend the remainder of the day relaxing on board. In between dips in the pool and sun-soaking sleeps on the upper deck, you'll be served lunch, afternoon tea and finally dinner before a belly dancing and whirling dervish show brings the day to a spectacular conclusion.

Days 4-5

Arrive into Aswan this morning where a short motorboat ride will bring you to the majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika. Explore its crumbling colonnades and intricate reliefs before a visit to see the Unfinished Obelisk, hidden away in the granite quarries that supplied much of the stone used in the contsruction of the great pyramids. Tonight's dinner is a gala affair served in elegant style by white-gloved waiters. The next day, remain in Aswan as, weather permitting, you spend an afternoon exploring on a felucca – a typical Egyptian sail boat. Visit Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanic Gardens and the Agha Khan Mausoleum before afternoon tea, local wines and beers, a selection of canapés and, finally, a three-course gourmet dinner.

Day 6
Kom Ombo

After your breakfast buffet on board, you'll disembark to visit the Kom Ombo Temple. Built between 180 and 47 BC, its unusual design meant that its interior halls, sanctuaries and even its entrance were duplicated to honour two different gods – the souther section to the crocodile god Sobek and the northern section to the falcon god Haroeris. As usual, your historian guide will help bring it all to life before you return to the ship for another cooking lesson and a relaxing afternoon on board as you sail to Esna.

Day 7

Arrive back into Luxor to visit the Temple of Karnak, built over a thousand years by generations of pharaohs. Take in the sheer scale and drama of its Hypostyle Hall – a forest of crumbling pillars that cover an area larger than Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral – before a tour of the city's East Bank and a tour of its Luxor Temple. In the late afternoon, return to the ship for a formal farewell dinner.
