You'll check in to your luxury hotel with two days to explore Singapore at your leisure. This cosmopolitan city is teeming with history and culture as well as modern art installations, enthralling architecture and pristine gardens. Don't miss the iconic Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay, a lush paradise of native (and international) plant species surrounded by towering tree structures connected by aerial walkways. If you enjoy shopping, take a stroll along the famous Orchard Road, home to designer brands and popular boutiques; if you prefer something a little more authentic, seek out the hawker markets for some world-class street food - one such stall has a Michelin star.

Eastern & Oriental Express
After breakfast today you'll step aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express and settle in to the comfort of your private cabin. Enjoy afternoon tea as you watch the world go by from your window, surrounded by vintage decor and elegant furnishings. There's also time to explore the train, taking in some fresh air and panoramic vistas from the Observation Car before enjoying a multi-course dinner of western and oriental delicacies. Finish the night with a cocktail or two in the Bar Car, where the train's resident pianist provides the perfect accompaniment to an evening onboard.

Kuala Kangsar
After a continental breakfast served in your cabin by your personal steward, it's time for a guided tour in Kuala Kangsar, home to the gleaming Ubudiah Mosque and palaces and galleries dedicated to royalty past and present. You'll also discover remote rice paddies and working farmland as you delve deeper into rural Malaysia, tasting authentic Malay cuisine and meeting locals before an optional hill trek with panoramic views. Back on board, there's more fine dining to enjoy as you pass limestone massifs rising from the rice fields.

Bangkok
This morning you'll cross in to Thailand to be greeted by the spectacular River Kwai Bridge. A choice of tours awaits you; take a raft along the river among the traditional teak houses on the banks, stopping at the Thai-Burma Railway Centre to discover the poignant wartime history behind its construction; or perhaps you'll cycle among the rice fields or take a traditional cooking class. Return to the train to enjoy the final leg of your journey and a delicious lunch before your driver takes you to your luxury Bangkok accommodation.

The frenetic pace of Bangkok's bustling centre is offset by the seclusion and tranquility of your Bangkok hotel.
