About

Recommended for:
Fully refundable deposit | Mountains | Natural world | Short break

Part small-group tour, part independent journey, this three-day itinerary is the perfect add-on to a short stay in Sydney or a longer Australian adventure. In the company of an expert guide and a small group of fellow travellers, you'll wind your way through rural New South Wales as you head into the Blue Mountains, pausing at scenic lookouts along the way. You'll then spend a full day exploring at your own pace, perhaps enjoying a hike on forest trails, seeking out local wildlife or laying by the heated infinity pool overlooking the Jamison Valley. Award-winning restaurants and bars offer a chance to sample the region's cuisine and fine wines, while an onsite spa offers indulgent treatments to help you truly unwind. It's then time to rejoin your group for a guided journey back to Sydney.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Sydney to the Blue Mountains

Your experience begins as you join a small group tour from Sydney to the Blue Mountains via some of New South Wales' most picturesque scenery. On your journey to the heart of this World Heritage region, you'll stop at Calmsley Hill for morning tea with time to explore the working farm and see its population of kangaroos, emus, wombats and koalas. You'll also stop at a lookout point for a spectacular photo opportunity before arriving at your hotel accommodation with the rest of the day to explore at your own pace. With stunning views across the Blue Mountains, Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort and Spa is an exclusive retreat offering boutique rooms, spa facilities, two heated pools, and multi-award winning restaurants and bars.

Today you'll have the day to yourself, and there are plenty of ways to spend your time in this breathtaking corner of the world. Onsite, the resort boasts tennis courts among the pine forests, complimentary mountain bike hire and a 13-metre heated outdoor infinity pool overlooking the Jamison Valley. If you're keen to get out and explore, a range of tours are available, from the world's steepest passenger railway – the Scenic Railway – to a Segway tour of the forested mountains. Back at the hotel, try afternoon tea in The Lounge, enjoy a massage in the indulgent Lilianfels Spa or relax as you sample some world-class regional wines.
