Arrive in Western Australia’s capital, set between the Indian Ocean coast and the Swan River. Once through the airport, a waiting transfer will see you to your city-centre hotel. Then, over two full days, you’ll explore the best of the city and its surrounds, with plenty of free time to take in the likes of King’s Park and Cottosloe Beach, as well as an included full-day tour to Rottnest Island. Travelling out by ferry, you’ll explore the island by bike, looking out for a full array of native wildlife, from fur seals and turtles to ospreys and oystercatchers. Ningaloo & swimming with whale sharks
Your wildlife adventure continues today with a flight north to Learmonth and a transfer to Mantarays Ningaloo Resort. Then, across three memorable days, you’ll explore and discover the spectacular wildlife and landscapes of this remarkable coastal region. To help you make the most of your time, we’ve included two tours. The first, a full day whale shark encounter, will see you take to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean to swim with what is the largest shark species in the world – a genuine bucket-list experience. These gentle giants are plankton feeders, drawn to the nutrient-rich waters of the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo reef. Onboard, you’ll be treated to drinks and a buffet lunch as well as educational talks by marine biologists, while out to sea you’ll also want to keep an eye out for everything from bottlenose and Australian humpback dolphins to the wonderfully weird dugong. Lunch is included on day six only.

Heading out to the Cape Range National Park, you’ll go in search of kangaroos, emus, echidnas, birds and black-flanked rock wallabies amid the hidden creeks and canyons of the park’s limestone ranges. A boat tour will see you through the best of it, before your contrast its rugged beauty with the white sands and turquoise seas of the coast. Here, after an included lunch you’ll enjoy a snorkelling experience on Ningaloo Reef itself.
Stay: Mantarays Ningaloo Resort (Superior)
Transfer back to the airport and fly south, returning to Perth where you’ll be met for the short trip to the port city of Fremantle. On arrival, check into your boutique hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace, perhaps making the most of the hotel’s complimentary bike hire. The vibrant Fremantle Markets are a great place to start while the 19th-century former prison – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – offers a fascinating insight into the town’s convict past. Of course, you won’t want to miss ‘Cappuccino Strip’ a bustling thoroughfare known for its cafes, galleries and Italian restaurants.
Stay: Hougoumont, Fremantle (Superior)
Returning to the airport, you’ll board a flight east to Adelaide, the vibrant capital of South Australia. Once landed, a transfer will see you to your accommodation – a five-star boutique hotel located in the pretty Adelaide Hills. Alternatively, you might choose to upgrade to the next-door Sequoia Lodge, a luxury retreat host to world-class wining and dining and a superb, natural-spring-fed spa. Whichever you choose, you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy a relaxing introduction to your South Australia experience, exploring the surrounding countryside on ambling walks or tasting your way around the local vineyards and cellar doors.
Stay: Mount Lofty House, Adelaide Hills (Deluxe)
Today, you’ll board a short flight across to Kangaroo Island, one of Australia’s preeminent wildlife hotspots. To showcase the island at its best, we’ll book you onto a tour, with two days led by experienced local guides. Indeed, from north to south, you’ll soak up Kangaroo Island’s myriad highlights, taking in eucalyptus forests host to snoozing koalas, tracing dramatic coastlines where wallabies, kangaroos and sea lions play on golden sands and pausing for delicious picnics in the heart of the wilderness. You’ll also have the chance to visit Flinders Chase National Park and travel to Remarkable Rocks – giant rock formations carved out by the power of the ocean.
For a high-end Kangaroo Island experience, upgrade your stay to the Sea Dragon, where stylish rooms and villas are paired with exquisite, locally inspired dining and a range of exceptional experiences, enjoyed across a day and a half of guided touring. Or, really push the boat out with two nights at the newly reopened Southern Ocean Lodge – one of Australia's most iconic hotels.
