Introduction
Trujillo is ranked as Peru's second largest city, a title it continually contests with Arequipa. The city has a colonial heart with many graceful old churches and colonial homes.
The area abounds in pre-Colombian sites, with good beaches and surfing nearby.
The biggest draws are perhaps the impressive ruins nearby, notably the Moche pyramids of Huaca del Sol, de la Luna, Chan Chan and El Brujo.
