King’s Canyon is a mighty 270-metre deep chasm located within the Watarrka National Park, 310km west of Alice Springs and 300km north-east of Uluru. This important conservation area of rock holes and gorges is a magnificent oasis in the desert, providing refuge for a sheltered valley of waterholes, lush forests of ferns and palms and more than 600 other ancient species of plants and native animals.
