Introduction
One of the least populated regions of Vietnam, and supported almost entirely by agriculture, Kon Tum province is home to a largely ethnic minority population.
There are a large number of Montagnard villages, inhabited by a diverse array of ethnic groups including the Sedange, Bahnar and Jerai.
Traditional Rong houses form a central part of village life across the province, holding ceremonies and offering visitors a place to stay. Overnighting in these stilted houses is a perfect way to learn about the traditions of Vietnam's ethnic groups and, as is tradition, will usually be accompanied by a few potent glasses of locally distilled rice wine.
