Caves and Kiwi – The Waitomo Experience

This full day tour will bring the geography, history and birdlife of the Waitomo region to life. You’ll start with the famed Ruakuri cave system. Here, the country’s longest underground tour will bring you to giant cave formations lit by glow worms. After morning tea, you’ll then be taken on a guided walk through the Ruakuri rainforest, pausing at forested gorges, limestone arches and giant cliffs. Following a barbecue lunch, you’ll visit the Otorohanga Kiwi House to learn about New Zealand’s favourite avian.
