The dynamic positioning system allows the mega-yacht to remain on station without dropping anchors, protecting the seabed—and the solar panels supplement electricity, reducing emissions.

As sustainable as it is stunning, Celebrity Flora uses a dynamic positioning system that protects the seabed by allowing the ship to stay on station without anchors. Reverse osmosis turns sea water into all the fresh water we need. Flora’s also the first ship of its size to have solar panels, which supplement the electric supply and reduce emissions. And non-toxic silicone paint helps the hull glide more smoothly through the water with less fuel. Celebrity Flora is a ship that maximizes your Galapagos experience while minimizing our footprint. A few million years ago, volcanos erupted, creating these moonscapes where lumbering tortoises, comical birds, and other wildlife evolved in isolation. Today, you can experience this wondrous environment on shore excursions led by naturalists—two each day—as active or leisurely as you choose. Climb the hills to find colonies of red-footed boobies, hike the coast to spot colourful Sally Lightfoot crabs, watch the sea lions go surfing, or just relax and enjoy the sandy beaches and deck-side bars.

The Flora
While the animals of the Galapagos Islands get the glory, the evolution and adaptation of plant life here is equally important. Check out the beautiful lava Cactus, which only grows on barren lava fields. The Prickly Pear Cactus found only on these islands. And, the magnificent Scalesia, which grows up to sixty feet tall.
The Fauna
Since the animals here don’t fear humans, you can truly get up close and personal, looking into the eyes of a Galapagos marine iguana, and walking among penguins – the only penguin species north of the equator. Here, you’ll discover creatures whose very existence forms the basis for one of the most famous scientific theories in history.
The Adventure

Celebrity Flora℠ custom-built Novurania tenders will transport you in comfort and style. They feature stairs with a metal railing that fits flush against the open aft creating a seamless ship to shore transportation system that makes it even easier to go exploring the islands—a first in the Galapagos. Each tender also features a hydraulic ramp that makes wet landings in the islands much more convenient—and less wet. It can also be used as a platform that makes getting on and off for snorkeling much easier. Other features not found on the standard tender include storage space for snorkel gear and interior seating. They also feature rubber grips on the sides for a comfortable place to hold on while you explore the islands.

We’ve collaborated with Miami’s Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science to design educational videos that are part of our immersive Galapagos experience. Each video ranges from 5-minute shorts to in-depth 30-minute “TED” style lectures on relevant topics that help prepare you for your daily adventures in the islands.
