Day 1
Depart UK

Start your holiday in style with included UK airport lounge access before your overnight flight to Tokyo.

Days 2-3
Tokyo to Hitachinaka

Arrive in Japan’s capital, where you’ll be met and transferred to your luxury cruise ship, Regent’s Seven Seas Explorer, docked in the nearby port of Yokohama. Enjoy an evening at leisure, settling into your cabin and tucking into the first of your included dinners, available at any one of the ship’s seven speciality restaurants. Or, simply relax with a spot of room service as you sail overnight to Hitachinaka, where you’ll make port on day three.

Day 4

Nature, history, traditional cuisine and samurai culture come together in the intoxicating city of Sendai. Choose between a host of included shore excursions, from sake brewery visits to guided city tours. Or, upgrade to a Regent Choice option, perhaps taking in dramatic volcano views over active Mount Zao, visiting a Zen Buddhist monastery on a cruise of Matsushima Bay or hiring a private van to tailor a tour all of your own.

More of Japan’s unique culture, beauty and, of course, fabulous food await in Hakodate, a city noted for its hot springs and traditional onsen baths. From city tours to mountaintop viewpoints, your range of free excursions will introduce you to the best of it. Perhaps take a tram ride to the summit of Mount Hakodate and stroll the cobblestones of the 19th-century Motomachi District. Or spend a day learning about the indigenous peoples of northern Japan with a visit to the city museum.

Cruising the Pacific Ocean

Day 8
Petropavlovsk & Kamchatka Peninsula

Arrive in Petropavlovsk, gateway to Russia’s volcanic far east. Explore a region rarely touched by tourism as you choose between a visit to a traditional Koryak village, a scenic drive to the majestic Kamchatka Peninsula or an expert-led tours to a local kennel to learn about the breeding and training of Siberian huskies.

Days 9-10
At sea / crossing the international date line

While three days at sea will afford ample opportunity for relaxation and the chance to further acquaint yourself with your ship’s myriad delights, this particular part of the voyage also marks your crossing of the international date line as you pass between the eastern and western hemispheres.

Day 11
Dutch Harbor

Today you’ll arrive in Dutch Harbour on the Aleutian Chain, a remote region 900 miles southwest of Anchorage. With its sprawling landscapes of wildflower-dotted valleys, framed by towering volcanic peaks, it’s a wild and windswept place of breath-taking beauty. Take it all in on naturalist-led hikes, go beach combing and berry picking or watch salmon spawn in the Iliuliuk Creek. While there are no organised excursions here, you’ll have the day free to explore at your own pace.

Day 12
At sea

Enjoy another day at sea, taking the chance to relax and unwind as you sail on towards Alaska and America’s remote northwest coast.

Days 13-14
Kodiak & Seward

Your introductions to Alaska will be made on the island of Kodiak, where included excursions include the likes of guided river fishing, national park nature walks and wildlife tours in search of the famous Kodiak bears. You’ll then sail on to Seward, the gateway to the majestic Kenai Fjords. Let optional cruises or even a helicopter flight showcase this region of dramatic peaks, secluded bays and vast glaciers, where you’ll have the chance to see everything from whales and sea lions to huge colonies of puffins.

Day 15
Hubbard Glacier

Spend another day at sea, but this time with a real trip highlight as you step out on deck to take in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Hubbard Glacier.

Days 16-17
Sitka & Juneau

As the former historic centre of Russia’s Alaskan Empire, Sitka is a place steeped in history. Find out more at the Russian America and Raptor Center or take a trip on the wild side to soak up mesmerising landscapes, watch out for whales and sea otters and learn about the region’s fascinating indigenous past. You’ll then sail on to Juneau to explore Tracy Arm Fjord and Sawyer Glacier, go in search of whales and bald eagles or upgrade for a thrilling seaplane exploration. There’s even the chance for a helicopter and dogsled adventure on the Medengall Glacier.

Days 18-19
Ketchikan & the Inside Passage

With its salmon canneries and sawmills, Ketchikan offers a genuine insight to life on the Alaskan coast. You might choose to take in a lumberjack show watch crab fishermen at work or join a cruise of the George Inlet followed by a crab feast. Whatever you choose, you can look forward to one of world cruising’s most iconic voyages, a sailing through the Inside Passage.

Days 20-21

Arrive in Vancouver where you’ll disembark after breakfast. Transfer to the airport in time for your overnight flight home, arriving in the UK on day 21.
