About

Recommended for:
Ocean cruise

This luxury journey will see you step aboard the opulent Le Lyrial for an all-inclusive cruise that starts and ends in Italy. You'll start among the bustling piazzas and ancient history of Rome before setting sail to Italy's famed Amalfi Coast, a picture-perfect scene of pastel-coloured houses perched among a frame of turquoise. The ancient heritage sites of Sicily and the Aeolian Islands' Stromboli volcano are next before you swap it all for Croatia. Stroll among UNESCO-listed architecture in Dubrovnik, enjoy long evenings in Hvar's harbour-side buzz and swim in the bays of secluded Rab before it all ends back in Italy and the icons of Venice. You'll return each day to the delights of the ship, from your ultra-contemporary stateroom to the sprawling pool deck and two gourmet restaurants, all bookended by luxury stays in both Rome and Venice and private transfers throughout.

Day by day itinerary

Days 1-2
UK to Rome

After included VIP airport lounge access, board your flight to Rome where, on arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel, the Art by the Spanish Steps, for a two night stay. Just a four-minute walk from its namesake, enjoy ultra-contemporary rooms and a stylish bar – the perfect end to a day exploring Rome. You've got a full day to discover The Eternal City on day two – sip espressos with the glamorous locals in the central piazzas, zip past Roman architecture on pastel-coloured Vespas and watch priests wander through The Vatican City before taking advantage of the city's famous eateries, from hole-in-the-wall pizzerias by the town square to Michelin-starred delights.

Day 3
Embark the ship

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and enjoy a private transfer to Civitavecchia to embark the ship. Take the chance to explore first, though – built on an Etruscan site between the Tyrrhenian sea and the Monti della Tolfa, Civitavecchia is perfect for art and history buffs, with myriad historical sites on offer like Fort Michelangelo and the Cathedral of Saint Francis of Assisi. Then, board the ship and settle in to your contemporary, balcony-adorned suite or indulge at the onsite spa's massage rooms and hammam. Come evening, enjoy the first of your included dinners in either the elegant Gastronomic Restaurant or al fresco Grill.

The walls of Dubrovnik are your next stop on day eight. This Croatian gem is ever-popular, and it's not hard to see why – its charming city walls hold all sorts of delights, from hidden coves for sunbathing to cliff-side beach bars and options for kayaking, visiting the elegant houses along La Placa and even the chance to visit Game of Thrones-inspired scenery where the programme itself was filmed. Then, on day nine, anchor in to Hvar and explore the charming old town of Stari Grad, or take advantage of the abundance of secret sunbathing spots at the myriad rocky beaches and beach bars before dinner on the charming waterfront.
