Day 2
Cabo Frio

More than 500 years old, the city of Cabo Frio offers beautiful beaches, a tropical climate and a wealth of tourist activities. Praia do Forte is the most famous beach, with more than four miles of exquisite white sands and crystal clear waters. Explore the history of the city at Forte São Mateus, a 15th century stronghold against pirates.

Day 3
Cruising The Atlantic Ocean

Day 4

Enjoy this marvelous colonial city atop a bluff where Portuguese and African heritage blends seamlessly. Visit the beautiful cathedral and bustling market and savor the breathtaking views over the bay and ocean. See the beaches and stroll through the narrow streets of the Pelourinho with its colonial architecture and African culture.

Day 5

The city of Maceió is set along seemingly endless stretches of lovely beaches, fronting clear water in hues of green and blue. Kick back on the sand and soak in the sun, or rent a kayak or paddleboard and explore the sea. In town you’ll find cultural experiences like concerts, street festivals and museums that feature folk art, fine art, sports and natural history. Discover more fun and live Brazilian music at one of the city’s many pubs and restaurants.

Day 6

Discover colonial Brazil in Recife and nearby Olinda and step back in time along narrow, winding streets amid meticulously restored homes, churches and lovely plazas. Admire the scenic views from the Malakoff Tower and Olinda's hilltop plaza. Visit the old Dutch fort, the Jewish Historic Archive and a local artist in his workshop and gallery.

Day 7

Enjoy this cosmopolitan city with its 250 miles of stunning, dune-enhanced coastline. Thrill to a dune-buggy ride along the beach, try your hand at kite surfing, or just wander the Centro du Turismo choosing colorful bargains to take home.

Days 8-10
Cruising The Atlantic Ocean

Day 11
Mindelo (Sao Vicente)

Enjoy charming São Vicente and the amazing landscape here and on nearby Santo Antão. Stroll through town past vibrant markets and the replica of Lisbon’s Belem Tower. Visit the stark but lovely lunar-like beach at Catfish Bay. On Santo Antão see lush and rugged landscapes and picturesque villages.

Days 12-13
Cruising The Atlantic Ocean

Day 14
Santa Cruz De Tenerife

Volcanic in origin, Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands. While in port, you'll notice the Auditorium of Tenerife, an amazing, organic structure that instantly became an icon when completed in 2003. Another modern landmark is the Oscar Domínguez Institute, a contemporary art gallery named after the 20th century surrealist. For a respite from the urban environment, visit the Palmetum, a botanical garden with more than 400 species of palms.

Day 15
Arrecife (Lanzarote)

Soft breezes caress this small volcanic island just 79 miles off the west coast of Africa. A land of contrasts: you can explore some of the world's most spectacular caves in the morning and relax on a white sand beach in the afternoon.

Day 16
Cruising The Atlantic Ocean

Day 17

Explore the Mendoubia Gardens, which contain a fascinating banyan tree that is more than 800 years old. Or experience a more traditional Morocco in Tetouan, a mountain city of grace and culture and the location of the beautiful white royal palace. The Caves of Hercules are nine miles west of Tangier in the Cap Spartel area; it is a place of great beauty and archaeological significance.

Day 18

Soak up the sun on one of the numerous exquisite beaches lining this Mediterranean haven. Visit the astonishing Alcazaba, a medieval fortress high on the ridge overlooking the extraordinary city. The revered wall paintings in the caves of Velez Blanco offer fascinating insights into an ancient people. See where the historic and modern merge on a stroll down the Paseo de Almeria.

Day 19

Lying on Spain's radiant Costa Blanca, Alicante exudes a rare beauty. Lovely Baroque buildings cluster around the historic central district. Marble plazas grace its broad waterfront boulevard, the illustrious Explanada de España. Pristine beaches like San Juan hug the shoreline. It's no surprise that Alicante is popular year-round. Venture to the grand Castle of Santa Barbara overlooking the city and walk from its high towers down into the dungeon. Stop for a glass of refreshing sangria in the Old Quarter. Behold the masterpieces hanging in the Gravina Museum of Fine Arts, a former 18th century palace.

Day 20

Visit the magnificent Gothic cathedral and the amazing La Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece. Enjoy the lovely Montjuic Gardens, Gaudí's other fabulous structures, the charming squares of the old Gothic Quarter and the Ramblas, Barcelona's famed downtown promenade. Or visit beautiful Montserrat and its monastery in a breathtaking setting high in the mountains.
